Group Supply Chain Director - Industrial

Job description

For an international industrial group operating in complex, multi-site manufacturing environments, we are looking for a Group Supply Chain Director.

The position will be responsible for leading the evolution of the Group Supply Chain, developing an increasingly integrated operating model across plants, functions and countries.

The role combines a strong operational dimension with a transformation mandate: from integrated planning and inventory management to process harmonisation and the evolution of data, tools and ways of working.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and develop the Group Supply Chain strategy, in line with business and industrial priorities.
  • Lead the end-to-end Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process, ensuring alignment across Commercial, Manufacturing, Procurement, Finance and Supply Chain.
  • Oversee demand & supply planning, material management and inventory, improving forecast accuracy, service levels and inventory turnover.
  • Coordinate fulfilment, order management, logistics, distribution and transportation, ensuring effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Drive greater integration across the different manufacturing sites, developing common processes, standards and operating practices.
  • Promote continuous improvement and Supply Chain digitalisation initiatives, leveraging data, systems and planning tools to support better decision-making.
  • Define and monitor Group-level KPIs and dashboards, supporting Executive Leadership in Supply Chain-related decisions.
  • Develop risk management and business continuity strategies.
  • Lead and develop the international Supply Chain community, operating effectively also through functional leadership and influence.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for a manager with solid Supply Chain experience gained within international industrial/manufacturing organisations characterised by significant operational complexity and a multi-site footprint.

Particularly relevant will be:

  • At least 12–15 years of professional experience with increasing responsibility within Supply Chain.
  • Hands-on experience in S&OP, planning, inventory and material management.
  • Exposure to international organisations and multiple manufacturing sites.
  • Experience in structured Supply Chain environments with a strong continuous improvement culture.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, advanced planning systems and digital tools supporting Supply Chain processes.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Commercial, Procurement and Finance.
  • Strong leadership, the ability to influence different stakeholders and to operate effectively within matrix organisations.
  • The ability to continuously “zoom in and zoom out”: going into operational detail when required while maintaining an overall view of the organisation and business priorities.
  • Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain/Operations Management, Business Administration or equivalent.
  • Fluent English; knowledge of French would be an asset.

Experience gained in automotive or other industrial sectors characterised by particularly advanced and complex Supply Chains will be considered highly relevant.
