Head of IT Governance - Insurance

Job description

For a leading company operating in the insurance sector, we are looking for the Head of IT Governance, to directly support the IT Department in the planning, monitoring and overall governance of the function.

The position will be responsible for ensuring structured oversight of IT Governance processes, with particular attention to economic and financial planning, cost control, project portfolio management and compliance with the relevant regulatory framework. 

Main responsibilities

• Oversee the IT budgeting and forecasting process, monitoring costs, investments, deviations and the main economic KPIs of the function;
• develop and maintain IT management control tools, ensuring transparency on cost allocation and resource use;
• support the IT Department in defining the strategic plan and the portfolio of technological investments, verifying their progress, priorities and economic sustainability;
• monitor IT programs and projects, promoting homogeneous governance in terms of time, costs, risks and expected results;
• overseeing the economic and contractual aspects relating to the main suppliers and technological partners, contributing to vendor management and sourcing processes;
• ensuring, in coordination with the Risk, Compliance, Security and Internal Audit functions, the adaptation of IT governance processes to the main regulations and provisions applicable to the insurance sector, with particular reference to DORA, IVASS regulations and ICT governance and risk management frameworks;
• prepare reporting and analysis to support management and corporate decision-making.

Profile

We are looking for a professional with consolidated experience in IT Governance, IT Controlling, IT Portfolio Management or IT Financial Management roles, preferably gained in insurance, banking or regulated financial contexts. 

The following are required:

• solid ability to manage and control complex IT budgets;
• knowledge of planning, forecasting and economic control processes;
• familiarity with IT Governance, portfolio and vendor management models;
• knowledge of the regulatory framework relating to ICT governance and risk in the financial sector;
• ability to interact effectively with IT, Finance, Procurement, Risk and Compliance stakeholders;
• analytical approach, autonomy and ability to synthesize towards senior management.

Indicative RAL: up to €90.000, commensurate with the experience.
