Commercial Director

Job description

Our Client is an international Company operating in the business of air conditioning (HVAC) systems for over 10 years, on its behalf we are looking for the Commercial Director of  the Italian Entity.

Mission of the position:

As Commercial Director/Manager you will manage the commercial and administrative organization in Italy and you will be part of a broader European management team reporting directly to the Managing Director based in the Netherlands.

The Italian company context:

The organization consists of a small team of very experienced and driven specialists within their field, including After Sales & Maintenance, Finance & Controlling and Operations & Logistics. Thanks to your  "commercial & sales" background in the field of air conditioning systems you will be responsible for creating one commercial team with a focus on growth and profitability.

Key Accontabilities:

Responsibility of P&L.

  • Work with the team on an annual budget and then closely follow up the planning and realization of the financial targets set therein (monthly reporting, supply chain, credit management)
  • Guarantee sales growth and margin improvement with the aim to ensure that the COMPANY brand will be given an even more prominent place in the market
  • With the help of a modern marketing strategy, the position will ensure that existing and new customers can get to work with challenging and innovative products
  • With knowledge and experience in this market the candidate is able to make the next step in further professionalizing and renewing the total sales process of the company

Management of the sales channel and of exiting & potential Customers

  • The position will be “the face” of the COMPANY to the outside world. This means that you regularly sit down with our agents and customers to discuss sales experiences, closely follow market opportunities and convince new, potential customers of the power of the COMPANY brand

Working Relationships:

The position reports directly to the Managing Director based in the Netherlands and manages a team of 5 people in Italy

Professional background:

  • A proven track record as Commercial Manager within the Italian air conditioning market, with an excellent knowledge of this business sector (agents, retailers, installers, after sales providers)
  • Experience in managing marketing and sales people
  • The capability to find a good balance between commercial interests and technical / operational possibilities as well a keen eye for the competition completes the profile of our ideal candidate
  • Experience in leading a small team of experienced people with strong personalities and with experience in change management in order to bring the company to a higher level
  • Capability to see opportunities and be able to easily switch between strategic, tactical and operational levels : translate the vision into a concrete and clear business plan and then take the team along in a pragmatic way
  • Experience in translating the data into clear KPI’s which can then be used to manage the business

Education:

  • Degree in Economic or similar
  • Fluent in English
