EU Procurement Director

Our Client is a leading international company working on project basis.

On its behalf we are looking for the 

EU Procurement Director

reporting directly to European Region CEO and to the European Management board. 

Mission of the position:

The European Procurement Director will lead all European Procurement activities for goods and services in accordance with the projects requirements, quality, budget and Corporate Policies.

 Responsibilities and Activities:

  • She/he defines the European Procurement strategies, leading their implementation in collaboration with the Brand CEOs and Corporate COO
  • Define Mid Terms and Long Term Procurement Targets (cost and services)
  • Lead transformational activities to improve procurement efficiency, meeting quality expectation and projects requirements
  • Support Group Processes implementation and harmonization
  • Establishes and maintains effective relationships with vendors and internal customers
  • Manage the capacity and resources allocation of the Local Procurement Teams and the EU Commodity Teams
  • Knowing the Procurement Planning, she/he monitors and balances the resources workload, maybe also with intercompany workload sharing
  • If necessary, undertakes temporary duty assignments to support countries offices and Commodity teams
  • Develop and implement a training program for the Procurement Staff
  • Conduct regular budget & schedule reviews/analysis with the Commodity Managers to ensure alignment of objectives
  • Develop, implement & maintain a system to monitor vendor rating, performance & capacity (vendor KPI and vendor periodical evaluation)
  • Perform constant monitoring of the EU Procurement activities and performance (EU procurement Team KPI) and define and implement improvement plans if necessary to improve department efficiency

  Education/skills:

  • Master Degree or equivalent qualification
  • Business Presentation Level English (fluent) is necessary. Proficiency in languages Dutch, German or Italian would be of advantage
  • Excellent skills with MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint and other basic software

 Professional background:

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in similar role preferably in international manufacturing companies working on project basis (it is a must)
  • A solid track record of project and change management within an industrial
  • Excellent experience in Supply Contract definition in an international environment is required
  • Experience engaging with local and international vendors on procurement of goods and services required

 Personal skills:

  • Excellent negotiation skills & conflict resolution skills are required
  • Proactive approach, problem-solving, and ability to work with the team also in detail management if required
  • Interpersonal communication skills are required in a particular way to communicate requirements, expectations and instructions

 The position may be located in: Italy, Germany or the Netherlands
